Crimped or Flat .011 Stainless Steel Mesh

Description:

Knitted wire in various diameters of wire that are knitted into a tubular form and then flattened into continuous lengths which are then rolled up for packaging. The standard knit of the insulation mesh is 8 stitches per inch of width and 6-8 courses per inch of length.

Dimensions:

Knitted wire mesh comes in wire diameters of .006″, .008″, .0095″, and .011″.  It is available in flattened tubes with widths of 6, 8, 10, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 38 and 42 inches and then rolled up and packaged in cardboard boxes.  Can be supplied in either a flat or a crimped (corrugated) form.  Crimped mesh yields approximately 20% less coverage.  See chart at the bottom.

Construction:

  • .011 and .0095 wire diameters are recommended for maximum strength and temperature.
  • Crimped mesh, although reducing coverage, provides a slight air gap for extremely high temperature applications and also counteracts the tendency of the material to roll back when cut.
